Europa Conference League
This has to be West Ham United's best chance of winning a major trophy since 1980, surely.

There is mainly utter dross in this competition, and it would be an epic failure if a club with our squad doesn't at least reach the showpiece final in Prague next June.

We can't cock this up, surely?

I agree it is going badly. He started late. New players came in and the team looked disjointed not playing together. For a bit it improved slightly and looked like we had two groups playing together the old players and the new players, but with Paqueta being out that ended and we are still a bunch of misfits not playing well for large parts of the game. Although we lost it was almost acceptable against Liverpool, ManU and the likes, but against Palace, we were even worse. The "single" way to play is quite good when it works, but when it's not he focuses on sorting the defense first, which I guess it understandable, but not great to see. This world cup is not helping, it's a pain and Moyes will need to improve a lot when it's out of the way. A couple of wins before it starts would help, but really needs to get everyone focus for the 2nd part of the season.

To try and keep on topic, I'll say looks like, us, Villarreal or Lazio to win the Conference League... We'll probably need to beat those two to win it. Good games to look forward to.

Mex

His career suggests that he can play one way and then when he tries to play a different way with new players he hits a wall - Everton, Sociedad and us.

The main issue for me is that the team appear to have no plan on how to score a goal. Pass it around the back until eventually banging it down the line when put under pressure or just losing it before they get to bang it down the line.

Up until now we've had a clear game plan with Moyes. He's bought new players but is absolutely clueless how to use them. I was happy with him coming both the first and second times he came. And I thought he'd keep us up.

Now it reminds me of relegation seasons where we appear to have no plan at all. Going defensive against Palace who haven't won away in 6 months? Like we do against every side. He literally doesn't know what he's doing now.

I'm a STH and was in Bucharest as well. I sing the Moyes song. I used to sing the Bilic song. This is because I support the team in the ground.

I still want the Jock cunt out just like I wanted Bilic out by the end.

Re: Europa Conference League
I have totally embraced this competition, as I do with any European competition. I don’t care what the snobs think and I really do believe that many of the players have as well. The winners also qualify for the Europa, so what is not to like? Ask those supporters of ours who enjoy the away trips what they think of the Europa Conference.

I went to Bucharest yesterday and it was interesting to say the least. Bucharest reminded me very much of the eastern part of Berlin, but trying to keep up with capitalism and the West. Unlike Seville, where I recently returned and took the Mrs there for five days, I don’t think I will be taking her back to Bucharest, but it was still interesting to visit a place, through West Ham, that I’d never dreamed before of visiting.

Bring on the next opponents, whoever they might be.

By the way, before the match started David Moyes was being interviewed pitch-side and the entire away support started singing the ‘David Moyes’ song. This certainly told me that he has far more support than the detractors would think.

To be fair our intertoto win . Took far more winning than the inter city fairs cup only qualification for that was a trade fair had to take place in Ur city the previous year . Fuck it ain't it time the 40 war cup was upgraded as well .

If you want a thread to be all about me, start one. There are enough similar (or would narrow be a better description) minded people on here as you to ensure you won't get a SPLATT!!! should you do so.

This thread is about our campaign in Europe. Please try to stay on-target, there's a good chap.

Re: Europa Conference League
It's a European competition.

European football.

Can't believe some are sneering at the competition - what do you expect, a jump from relegation candidates to Champions League winners in a couple of seasons? Fuck me! Talk about being lead by the nose by the media!

Embrace and enjoy - this is our "belt" into the Europa next season, with our league position being "the braces".

Mind you, if the kids can turn in similar displays in (the early rounds of) the cups, we could end up with a pair of bicycle clips, too.

"Given we havent won anything since a ONE QUARTER share of the Inter-Toto"

Any true West Ham United supporter would know it was ONE THIRD of a share, along with Juventus and Montpellier.
